PA: From far away battlefields to backyards and bank vaults, Hardline changes the rules of engagement, and its all about the Benjamins. Battlefield Hardline is the breakout cops and robbers adaption of Electronic Arts Battlefield franchise. Developed by Visceral, the creators of Dead Space and (allegedly) the End Game DLC for Battlefield 3, we find ourselves with a substantially different Battlefield game.

Battlefield Hardline PC review- Vic B'Stard's State of Play

Added: 25.03.2015 23:18 | 25 views | 0 comments

Vic B'Stard writes: "What happens when you take an established franchise and throw the rulebook out the window? Well, you get something akin to Visceral Studios Battlefield Hardline. Taking over the stewardship of this particular entry from the franchise founders DICE, the Dead Space developer has taken Battlefield in a totally different direction. You could argue that DICE, themselves, have already done this with their more narrative-focused Battlefield Bad Company games- but youd be wrong. Bad Company still had soldiers and still had tanks. Hardline swaps all that cool military stuff out and replaces it all with the hard boiled world of cops and criminals. But is it really Battlefield?"

"Battlefield: Hardline took the Battlefield series to unfamiliar territory, immersing the player in the life and mindset of cops and criminals; the righteous and the evil. Hardline provides a sense of realism by removing the heavy array of weaponry seen in the earlier titles and obtains a fresh approach to the field of battle, accomplishing this thanks to Visceral Games, the development team behind the Dead Space series and Battlefield 3s final DLC, End Game. Visceral Games pallet has since attained a taste of blood after dabbling into the Battlefield series (no pun intended), striking at the opportunity to devise a unique exhibition in the progression of the series, one with an entirely new basis." - Christopher Stahler

Battlefield Hardline steals UK chart top spot - Final Fantasy, Mario Party and Resi in top 10

Added: 23.03.2015 11:21 | 18 views | 0 comments

Eurogamer: Battlefield Hardline has topped the UK all-formats chart, giving publisher EA its first number one of the year. Developed by Dead Space studio Visceral, Hardline beat the chart placing of Battlefield 4, which launched for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 back in October 2013 in second place, behind Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. But Hardline reached the top spot with fewer sales - despite the fact it is also available for PS4 and Xbox One. As expected, Hardline is the best-selling multiplatform launch of 2015 so far, although it has few rivals on that front.

The Battlefield series has achieved quite a legacy for themselves recently. Whether via the single player campaign or online multiplayer mode, players love the realistic feel of the Battlefield games. Battlefield Hardline mixes up the original style of Army warfare and puts gamers in the roles of cops and robbers. Visceral, the studio best known for the Dead Space series, has complete control over Battlefield Hardline, but can their ability to tell a good story be enough for Hardline to have an edge over previous Battlefields?
